That is a wrap on Marketo’s 2017 Summit! I must say it was one heck of a time. Marketo, leading the Engagement Economy was the theme, but also the tip of the iceberg in regards to how this company is changing. New partnerships, new education, new look and new visions. Let’s start with the beginning.
Marketo’s University Day was a sold-out affair. This year it seemed that the request was heard and learners were thrilled to have dedicated tracks for their skill level. With Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Exam prep it appealed to many more users than it has in the past. The organization was smooth and the feedback was great. Learners really felt like they were able to get a personal experience out of it. Way to go Marketo! We also were able to launch our advanced training and it was a huge success partnering with Marketo to develop it. If you were in the Advanced Track on University day, that was a taste of how our new advanced training is. Visit MarketoNext.com for more details.
The Marketo product updates look great. So many features that have been requested by customers are getting created. Some of the exciting items include System Monitoring and Bulk APIs. The reporting and dashboarding are going to be huge for customers in how they are able to demonstrate marketing’s impact on revenue, as well as the performance of individual marketing initiatives. Yay for data visualization! And, for no more screenshots of dashboards but true exporting capabilities!
The speakers were great. James Cordon was hysterical and his core message was “be authentic”. This is always at the root of our Marketing plans, but often lost, and we forget that it’s the primary way to be customer centric. When Queen Latifah spoke…her message was the same – be true to yourself. I think this was great to highlight the fact that even though the message delivery may have changed, the message should always remain rooted in who you are.
The parties and the networking are always important. It was amazing to sit with marketers and hear all the cool ways they are using Marketo and other partners to retain their competitive advantage. I for one, look forward to next year.
